My adventures in learning to machine knit and whatever comes to mind

Playing around…

on May 13, 2010

I’ve been fighting with my LK-150, trying to get it to behave, and this morning, I found my weaving attachment (LW1)that I had bought last year, and never used, so decided I would try it out before I put the machine in time out!

Here is the little swatch I did to see how it all worked.  I didn’t use a pattern, just played around with my needle pusher, changing back and forth between them in a random fashion.

My first try at knitweave

My first try at knitweave

Playing around with my LW1.  I used Bernat Berella 4 for the background, and the weaving yarn was some odd ball I bought at Big Lots called Knitting Fuzzy Fur!  As it was a very fine yarn, it gave a nice subdued look to the swatch.

It was a lot of fun, and I would like to do a whole garment that way, but first I’ve got to find  a new carriage for my machine, as mine is broken and hard to use.

If you’ve not tried knitweave yet, you really should!
